This Japanese watchmaker masters mechanical calibers as well as it handles electronic ones. For this reason, Seiko was able to launch a whole gaggle of Grand Seiko models at Baselworld 2015. Grand Seiko is the brand’s luxurious line of mechanical watches and contains specialties such as movements beating at the high frequency of 36,000 vph and powered by its proprietary Spring Drive. This year, Seiko introduces a special collection of re-editions of redesigned models from 1969. The brand also debuted a ladies’ collection with automatic movements. Finally, there are a number of commemorative models with stunning dials in deep red and intense blue colors combined with useful complications such as the GMT. Seiko is also expert in the area of diver’s watches within its Prospex line, which is distinguished by a special case shape. The brand unveiled a special version in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of the collection with a high-frequency movement (10 Hz). In terms of electronics, Seiko introduced the third iteration of its Astron movement, which is solar powered and sets itself directly using the GPS localization network. In other words, if you expose your watch to light and then press a button, you have the most accurate instrument. In fact, you can even forget all about it in a drawer for two years and it will still work when you take it out. Don’t you feel the soul of an adventurer now?
