How the Big Date of A.Lange&Söhne was created

Have you ever wondered about the origin of the iconic Big Date feature on A. Lange & Söhne watches? We did as well after seeing an intricate table clock at the A. Lange & Söhne booth at Watches & Wonders last year.

It appears that the story behind this signature feature mysteriously connects Dresden, the Semperoper, and the Lange family for centuries. Moreover, it showcases, once again, the ingenuity of Ferdinand Adolph Lange, who was also the first watchmaker in Europe to introduce the metric system in his workshop.

Bearing the same spirit of innovation and attention to detail, Lange's descendants continue on a journey in search of ultimate precision. To better understand the concept behind each timepiece, its coherence with the legacy of the brand, and why they have to be assembled and disassembled at least twice, we explored the manufacturing process and examined different collections and the ideas behind each design.

So, which one of A. Lange & Söhne will you choose?
